(Regn: 009830. CIN: U26900MH1956PLC009830) was established in 1956 as Everest Cement and Construction Ltd. Over the years it has also been called Evinco Exim Ltd and Everest Industrial and Construction Company Ltd.

It is not associated with any other company bearing the name Everest.

A V Somani, Chairman

AV is an entrepreneur and over the last 25 years he has successfully built various companies.

He brings his management experience to the recently founded Everest Tech, an investment fund to scale-up mid-sized industrial and manufacturing companies.

As Promoter and Executive Chairman of Everest Industries Ltd (publicly listed construction material and pre engineered buildings company) 2005-2019, the company became India's fastest growing building products company. From a single product roofing company with revenues of $30m in 2005 Everest grew to become a multi product building solutions provider with revenues of $200m and a high market capitalisation of 4x.

As Co-Founder of CompareIndia.com 2000-2006 he created India's first comparison portal for appliances, electronics and automotives, and sold it to CNBC Web18.

He has had business interests in real estate, distribution, travel and textiles and is an independent Board member/Advisor in various organizations.

He is an MBA from University of Pittsburgh 1997 and a Masters of Commerce from University of Bombay 1996. He is fascinated by lean manufacturing, fast construction, full kit project management and singularity, concepts that he has distilled in his organisations.

AV is deeply involved in several social causes close to his heart. Currently, in education (Vice President of Mahesh Shikshan Sansthan Jodhpur and Advisory Board Member to the Chancellor of University of Pittsburgh USA), philanthropy (Director at Centre for Advancement of Philanthropy India), culture (Founder of Inner Courtyard Mumbai) and urban conservation (at Asiatic Society, as part of the committee at Rotary Club of Bombay). In the past, with organisations in public governance, health and vocational skills building.

AV is a member of YPO Bombay and Rotary Club of Bombay and a Fellow of India Leadership Initiative of the Aspen Institute.
